Cumulative Patch 3 for 10.1.2.3

I am very pleased to announce that Oracle have released a third cumulative patch for Discoverer 10.1.2.3.

So far this has been released for the following platform:

Windows 32-bit
Linux x86 (works for both 32 bit and 64 bit)
HP-UX PA-RISC (64-bit)
HP-UX Itanium

U2Jacob said...: You should discard this Cumulative Update and wait for CP4 before updating - a critical issue was found with this patch. See bug 8267360 on Metalink for details.

Basically - if you access the Discoverer login page for either Plus or Viewer with an URL parameter like &database=(TNS name) AND the user has exactly 8 characters in his password, you will get an ORA-01017 logon denied, even though the password is correct.

I have received confirmation, that this bug will be fixed with Cumulative Patch 4.; 6:35 AM
